Preparatory Science Coursework
Complete these courses before transferring whenever possible.
General Chemistry
- 1 year plus labs
- UC Davis equivalent: CHE 2A, CHE 2B. CHE 2C
- Typically completed during the first year.
Biological Sciences
- 1 year plus labs
- UC Davis equivalent: BIS 2A-B-C or BIO 1-1L, 2-2L, 3
- If you can't complete the entire series, prioritize the cellular biology portion.
Organic Chemistry
- 1 semester to 1 year plus labs
- UC Davis equivalent: CHE 8A, CHE 8B or CHE 118A., CHE 118B
- Typically completed during the second year.
Important: Plan Your Coursework Before You Transfer
- To begin junior-level coursework in the Clinical Nutrition or Nutrition Science major, you must complete the required preparatory science coursework.
- Transferring before completing these courses may mean spending at least 3 years at UC Davis.
- Remember to work with the counselors/advisors at your college to ensure that you meet all admissions requirements in order to transfer to UCD.
